Saddlebrook is a part of Sanitary Improvement District (SID) 446, which is overseen by a 5 person Board of Trustees consisting of 3 trustees elected by Saddlebrook residents and 2 trustees elected by all property owners. The SID is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the public streets, storm and sanitary sewer infrastructure and other improvements to the district.

The Board is elected by the residents and property owners of the District every 2 years, via a mail-in ballot through the Douglas County, Nebraska Election Commision. Each Board member is elected to a 2-year term.

In 2007 the SID, along with the SID's of Standing Bear West, Stone Park, and Castle Creek subdivisions, the City of Omaha Parks Department, Omaha Public Library, and the Omaha Public Schools signed an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement to create a joint facility that now consists of Saddlebrook Elementary School, Saddlebrook Public Library, and the Saddlebrook Community Center. It is the first such multipurpose facility in the State of Nebraska. The facility opened in the Fall of 2009.

NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN that a meeting of the Board of Trustees of Sanitary and Improvement District No. 446 of Douglas County, Nebraska, will be held at 4:30 p.m. on April 10, 2012, at 14710 West Dodge Road, Suite 100, Omaha, Nebraska, which meeting will be open to the public.

An agenda for such meeting, kept continuously current, is available for public inspection at the principal office of the Board at 2120 South 72nd Street, Suite 1200, Omaha, Nebraska, and includes payment of bills of the District.
